Sharing specifications

Updated over 2 weeks ago

One of the biggest advantages of the Specification Manager is the ability to share quality standards and specifications throughout the entire supply chain. This creates a more unified and efficient QA process for everyone involved. By sharing a specification with your supplier, you ensure they are grading the quality of products based on the agreed standards, reducing misunderstandings and maintaining consistent quality expectations.

a.) Sharing while publishing a specification

One way to share a specification is directly during the specification publishing flow. This allows you to make the specification available to others right after it’s finalized, without navigating to any additional pages. It’s a quick and efficient method when you are already in the process of publishing and want to immediately grant access to the intended recipients.

This is how you can share a specification during the publishing flow:

  1. Click on Publish when you are ready to publish the specification

  2. Click next in the scheduling modal

  3. Select wanted organisations from the dropdown list

  4. Click on Publish

b.) Sharing through the Share tab

If you have already created a specification and do not want to create a new version, you can share it through the Share tab on the specification detail page. Simply add the desired recipients. This approach is ideal for sharing an existing specification without making changes to its content or version history.

Here are the steps to share a specifcaition though the Share tab:

  1. Open the wanted specification

  2. Open the Share tab

  3. Select wanted organisations from the dropdown list
