Before you can start using the Product Specification Manager module, you need to have categories and products set up in the system. You can create these categories and products from scratch like mentioned in the previous articles, but if you already have standard products in place, you can easily convert them to the new specification format.
This conversion feature provides a smooth transition from the old system to the new one, allowing existing customers to quickly adapt without rebuilding their entire product catalog. By converting your legacy products, you can take full advantage of the Specification Manager’s features while keeping your existing product information intact.
Here is a step-by-step description of converting products to the specification format:
Go to the Products page
Select the product that you want to export to specifications
Click on Actions
Click on Export product to specification
5. Select the option to either create a new specification or update a selected specification from the dropdown list
6. Click on the Export xxx to Create new specification
7. A draft version of a sepcification will be created
