Scheduling specifications

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Sometimes you may need to create a specification that is only relevant for a limited period rather than being a permanent standard. In such cases, scheduling a specification can be very useful. By scheduling, you can define the exact date and time when the specification should become active, as well as when it should expire. This ensures that the right standards are in place at the right time without requiring manual activation or removal.

To schedule a specification, simply set the start date and time for when it should go live, and the end date and time for when it should expire. Once scheduled, the specification will automatically follow this timeline, becoming visible and applicable during the set period. This feature is ideal for temporary quality standards, seasonal requirements, or special product batches.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Click on the Publish button when you are ready to publish the specifcation

  2. Toggle on the Schedule option

  3. Set up the active date range

If you select no end date, then the specification will be active indefinitely.

  4. Click on the Next button

Good to know

  1. If your scheduled specification version creates a gap with no active specification in place, an information banner will notify you. Make sure to schedule version without gaps if you want to avoid periods without an active specification version.

  2. If an end date is selected then the specification version will automatically expire when the date is reached
