Specification block types

Updated over a month ago

The Product Specification Manager is built to be flexible and modular, allowing users to structure product specifications clearly and efficiently. To support this, we’ve introduced block types—reusable content sections that you can mix and match to suit your product documentation needs.

Currently, there are four types of blocks available for use: parameter block, remark block, image block and text block.

Want to learn what each block type does and how to use them effectively? Read on for a detailed explanation of each.

    a. Adding blocks to sections

    1. Within a section, click on the button ‘'Add block’'

    1. Select a block from the modal

    1. The relevant block will be added

    b. Parameter block

    1. Select the field ‘'Parameter’'

    2. Find the parameters you wish to add (you can search per name or per parameter ID)

    c. Remark block

A remark block represents a specific quality defect or observation related to a product, and users can create their own list of remarks to match their inspection needs. These remarks are organized into remark groups—collections of remarks that behave in a similar way. For example, you might have a Major remark group and a Minor remark group. A remark group can contain any number of remarks, from just one to many.

All remarks within the same group share the same default settings for sample method, sample size, and sample count. These default values are suggested in the QC One Inspector app but can be adjusted by the inspector during the inspection. Each individual remark within a group can also have its own notes, its own image, and its own setting for whether an image is required. This approach ensures consistent handling of similar defects while still allowing flexibility for specific cases.

    1. Select the field ‘'Remark’'

    2. Find the remarks you wish to add (you can search per name or per remark ID)
