If you want to gradually adopt the Specification Manager, you don’t need to switch all your inspections at once. The conversion feature allows you to start small by manually converting only the inspections you choose. This makes it an ideal tool for testing the new workflow step by step, without disrupting your existing processes.
Inspections are initially created in the standard format as usual. When you’re ready to convert one, simply hover over the Options button on the right side of the inspection and select the conversion option. This way, you can easily move selected inspections from the standard format to the specification format at your own pace.
Hereby is the step-by-step desription of the conversion process:
1. Find the inspections that you wih to convert in the Inspections page
2. Hover over the Options button on the right side of the screen
3. Select the button ‘'Toggle convert’'
The inspection now receives a small yellow conversion icon which indicates that the inspection has been selected for the conversion. When you open this inspection in the QC One Inspector app, the inspection will be opened in the specification fromat. You will be asked to select a relevant specification there.
Good to know
1. To prevent system conflicts, only inspections that have not yet been synced can be manually converted. The small sync icon next to the inspector’s name shows the synchronization status:
if the icon is grey, the inspection has not been synced;
if it is green, the inspection has already been synchronized with the app.
Once an inspection is synced, the Toggle Convert button will be disabled (greyed out) to prevent further conversion.
2. It is not possible to convert an inspection from specification format back to the standard format. Continous conversion could cause system conflicts which is why all types of conversions are disabled after the inspections were synced to the application.
