For customers who have recently stepped into—or fully adopted—the Product Specification Manager module, we understand that every second counts when creating inspections. Previously, every time you created a new inspection in the QC One Inspector app, you were prompted to select the type of inspection. While this ensured flexibility, it could become repetitive and time-consuming, especially if you typically work with only one inspection type.
To make your workflow smoother, we’ve introduced a new “Inspection type” toggle in the QC One Inspector app settings. This feature is only visible for environments with access to the Product Specification Manager module, ensuring it appears for the right users at the right time.
How the Toggle Works
When you open the Inspection type setting, you’ll see three options
Choose – Keep things flexible. You’ll continue to be prompted to select the inspection type every time you create a new inspection.
Standard – Set it and forget it. All new inspections will automatically be created as standard inspections without asking.
Specification – For specification-focused workflows. All new inspections will automatically be created as specification inspections without any prompts.
Why It Matters
This small but powerful feature reduces repetitive clicks and helps you focus on what really matters: performing inspections efficiently. By selecting your preferred default, you can save time, reduce frustration, and streamline your inspection process—whether you predominantly work with standard inspections, specification inspections, or a mix of both.
Take control of your inspection workflow today by visiting Settings → Inspection type, and choose the option that works best for you.
Keep in Mind
This setting only applies to inspections that are locally created in the QC One Inspector app. If you receive an inspection from the portal that doesn’t match your application preferences, you will still be able to complete it. Existing inspections are not affected.
The setting is local and device-bound, so it applies only to the device where you configure it.
