Allow access to the Camera in the device Settings

The QC One inspector application needs to have the permission to access Camera from your device settings before you can use this feature in the application. Follow these steps to grant the Camera access from your device:

1. Go to your home screen and click ‘'Settings’'

2. Scroll down through the menu to find the QC One Inspector app

3. Toggle on the Camera switch so it becomes green

Camera permissions within the QC One Inspector app

Everytime the application is downloaded from the app store, the user is going to be asked to grant the application’s permission to the camera and the photos on the device. Depending on the types of updates, the permissions might be requested in the application again as well.

Permissions are necessary in the following scenarios:

1. Taking product photos

When documenting products for inspection reports, you’ll need to capture images directly within the app. Before doing so, the app will prompt you to grant camera access.

2. Using the bardcode scanner functionality

The barcode scanner feature requires camera access as well. The app will prompt you to grant permissions before activating the scanner.

The permissions pop up messages will show up automatically when necessary. When this happens, you can follow these steps:

1. Click on ‘'Allow’' to grand the application’s permission to access the camera

If you do not allow the application’s access to the camera, you will not be able to create photos within the inspection.

2. If you wish to import photos from the device’s library, you will have to grant the access to the Photo Library as well. We recommend to allow full access in order to avoid further adjustments.

It is also possible to grant limited access to the Photo Library. In this case, the access might need to be readjusted next time you wish to use the camera again. By allowing full access to the Photo Library right away, you automatically have access to all the library material, meaning that it will not need to be readjusted next time that you want to use the camera. Not allowing the access to the Photo Library at all would mean that you will not be able to import photos to the QC One Inspector app.

If you limited or declined the application’s access in the past and you wish to change that now, you can do so by finding the QC One Inspector in the device Settings and adjusting the access to the Photo Library manually.
