Everything about setting up photos as mandatory

Updated over a week ago

Did you know that you can make photos mandatory in QC One system?

Photos can be a powerful tool in quality inspections, offering visual evidence to support your findings. QC One allows you to make photos mandatory for specific products, ensuring that critical aspects of quality are thoroughly documented. Here’s everything you need to know about this feature:

What Does “Mandatory Photos” Mean?

When a photo is required for a product, inspectors must upload a photo before completing the inspection. This feature ensures visual documentation of key parameters, such as packaging quality or produce damage, whenever necessary. Making use of this setting means that a photo will be required for every single inspection. In case no photos are provides, the inspectors receive a warning message before finishing inspections.

Setting Up Mandatory Photos

Currently, marking photos as mandatory for products is managed by the QC One support team. If you’d like to use this feature, you can provide a list of products to the support team, who will assist you in setting everything up.

Key Points to Keep in Mind:

  1. Applies Across All Inspections: Once a photo is required for a product, it becomes mandatory for all inspections of that product. This means you cannot currently make photos mandatory for specific inspection types.

  2. Effortless Configuration: Users don’t need to handle the technical setup themselves. Simply contact the QC One support team with your requirements, and they’ll take care of it for you.

Upcoming Improvements

We’re excited to announce that this feature will be upgraded and will soon be available for users to manage directly within QC One. With the release of the Specifications Manager, users will have full control over whether photos are mandatory for both remarks and parameters.

Key Advantages of the Upcoming System:

  • Toggle with Ease: Use simple toggle buttons in the specifications builder to set up mandatory photos.

  • Specificity in Setup: Photos can be made mandatory for specific specifications rather than being automatically applied to all templates that include the parameter. This means you can require photos only for certain inspections or specifications, offering greater flexibility.

Benefits of Mandatory Photos

  • Enhanced Documentation: Capture visual evidence of key quality aspects, providing stronger support for inspection reports.

  • Consistency in Reporting: Ensure every inspection includes necessary photos to maintain consistent documentation standards.

  • Improved Quality Assurance: Strengthen quality control processes with clear and reliable visual records.
