Editing SM reports (pushing finished inspections back to the status Waiting for QC)

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Sometimes mistakes happen, or additional information becomes available after an inspection has already been completed. With the β€˜'Back to Waiting for QC’' feature, you can reopen a finished inspection, make the necessary corrections, and update the original report without having to start from scratch.

To edit a report, open the inspection you want to change and set its status back finished (Waiting for Approval, Waiting for Release, Released, Published) to Waiting for QC. Once the status has been updated, the inspection can be synced again with the QC One Inspector app.

When you reopen the inspection in the app, all previously entered data will still be available. This includes parameters, remarks, images, and any other information that was recorded. You can review what has already been entered, make adjustments where needed, or add new details.

After completing the inspection again, finish it in the same way you normally would. The system will automatically update the original report with your changes, ensuring that the corrected information is reflected in the final version.

Hereby a step-by-step description of the process:

  1. Open a finished Specifications report in Inbox

  2. Click on Actions

  3. Click on β€˜'Back to Waiting for QC’'

  4. Sync the inspection in the QC One Inspector app

  5. Edit the data

  6. Finish and sync the inspection as usual

Good to know

  1. After pushing an inspection back to Waiting for QC, it will automatically be reassigned to the inspector who originally finished it. Only that inspector will be able to sync and edit the inspection in the QC One Inspector app even if the original inspection was assigned to an inspector group or an organisation. If you wish to reassign the inspection to someone else, this can be done on the Inspections page.

  2. Only users with the Administrator role can push inspection reports back to the status Waiting for QC.

  3. Inspections can be editing multiple times this way if necessary.
